Tanggal 26 November 2007 akan tercatat sebagai salah satu hari penting dalam sejarah musik rock 1970-an. Pada tanggal itulah Led Zeppelin mengadakan konser reuni di O2 Arena, London, dalam rangka memperingati jasa produser legendaris Atlantic Records, almarhum Ahmet Ertegun.

Konser reuni merupakan hal biasa yang belum lama ini juga dilakukan oleh band-band raksasa tahun 1970-an seperti The Police. Namun, Zeppelin bukan sembarangan band. Mereka perintis aliran heavy metal yang beranak-pinak sampai kini dan memelopori kelahiran kultur head banging yang amat berisik namun tetap populer sampai sekarang.

Dan yang terpenting, jika diadakan voting penggemar, Zeppelin mungkin terpilih sebagai satu-satunya band yang pantas menyandang status "supergroup". Alasannya sederhana, yakni Zeppelin penerus supergroup The Yardbirds yang jadi Kawah Candradimuka bagi tiga gitaris top kala itu: Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, dan Jeff Beck.

Ketika konser diumumkan 12 September lalu, sekitar 20 juta penggemar langsung menyerbu situs penjual tiket—lebih dari sejuta memesan tiket. Setiap menit rata-rata ada 80.000 orang yang mengunjungi situs Ahmet Ertegun sampai lumpuh (crashed). Situs O2 Arena juga lumpuh karena terlalu banyak dikunjungi peminat.

Hasil undian siapa yang berhak atas tiket diumumkan 1 Oktober. Tiket konser dijual melalui sistem lotre karena jumlah yang tersedia hanya 20.000 lembar dengan harga 125 poundsterling (sekitar Rp 2,3 juta). Setiap calon penonton yang wajib mengisi alamat dibatasi hanya boleh membeli maksimal dua tiket saja.

Konser menghadirkan vokalis Robert Plant alias "Percy", Page alias "Pagey", dan pemetik bas John Paul Jones alias "Jonesy". Posisi drum orisinal almarhum John "Bonzo" Bonham diisi oleh putranya sendiri, Jason Bonham.

Sementara artis lain yang ikut serta dalam konser itu mantan pemetik bas Rolling Stones, Bill Wyman, bersama band yang dia pimpin, Rhytm Kings. Juga akan tampil gitaris The Who, Pete Townshend, dan kemungkinan juga vokalis Stones, Mick Jagger. Selain itu, ada band Foreigner dan vokalis Paolo Nutini.

Adalah seorang promotor top, Harvey Goldsmith, yang berhasil membujuk ketiga mantan personel Zeppelin untuk tampil di panggung. Menurut Goldsmith, partisipasi Jason Bonham juga jadi faktor terwujudnya konser ini. "Saya menulis surat kepada mereka, ’ini kesempatan bagi Anda untuk bersama kembali dan mengenang jasa mentor Anda dan saya, dan apakah Anda mau melakukannya?’" ungkap Goldsmith.

Tambah konser

"Dan saya terkejut karena mereka membalas dan menjawab ’ya’. Adalah jelas anggota keempat band adalah John Bonham yang sudah lama wafat. Namun, ada anaknya, Jason, yang merupakan drumer hebat yang juga jadi katalisator terwujudnya konser ini," tambah Goldsmith.

"Menurut saya ketika John meninggal dunia mereka merasa Led Zeppelin sudah selesai. Untungnya kini ada kesempatan bagi mereka untuk bergabung kembali. Cara dia bermain yang mendekati kualitas ayahnya membuat Anda ibarat mendengarkan kembali Zeppelin," katanya lagi.

Ertegun adalah produser yang menggaet Zeppelin ke label Atlantic Records. Ia meninggal dunia tahun lalu beberapa pekan setelah terjatuh saat menyaksikan konser Rolling Stones. "Kami amat terpukul tatkala orang pertama yang berjasa bagi kami, Ahmet Ertegun, meninggal dunia. Kami semua langsung sepakat dengan konser yang bertujuan mau mengenang jasanya," tutur Percy.

Goldsmith meramalkan bukan tak mungkin Zeppelin, yang menjual lebih dari 300 juta keping album, menambah tanggal konser. "Jika mereka menikmati konser 26 November, hanya Tuhan yang tahu apa yang akan terjadi. Mereka memiliki karier masing-masing, konser seperti ini tak ubahnya memulai kembali sebuah pernikahan. Saya berharap mereka melakukannya lagi, tetapi jika mereka menikmatinya," kata Goldsmith.

Setelah John Bonham meninggal dunia tahun 1980, Zeppelin sempat dua kali reuni di panggung, yakni di konser Live Aid di Philadelphia, Amerika Serikat, tahun 1985 dan perayaan ulang tahun Atlantic Records tahun 1988. Konser di Live Aid dianggap kurang maksimal karena berbagai alasan teknis, sementara konser 1988 hanya disaksikan audiens yang jumlahnya amat terbatas.

Zeppelin dikenal sebagai grup anti-singel meski beberapa hit mereka meledak di mana-mana seperti Stairway to Heaven, Kashmir, Whole Lotta Love, Rock ’n' Roll, Nobody’s Fault But Mine, dan Communication Breakdown. Dalam rangka menyambut konser reuni nanti, situs musik Gigwise melakukan jajak pendapat lagu terbaik Zeppelin dan hasilnya 21 persen dari 2.000-an penggemar memilih The Ocean.

Stairway to Heaven ada di urutan kedua dengan 16%, diikuti Kashmir (8%), Since I’ve been Loving You (7%), dan Whole Lotta Love (5%). Beberapa lagu yang tak tersedia pada jajak pendapat namun tetap dipilih penggemar antara lain Nobody’s Fault, Trampled Under Foot, dan Over the Hills and Far Away.

Dalam periode 1969-1979 Zeppelin merilis delapan album studio: Led Zeppelin (1969), Led Zeppelin II (1969), Led Zeppelin III (1970), ZoSo (1971), Houses of the Holy (1973), Physical Graffiti (1975), Presence (1977), dan In Through the Out Door (1979). Album kedua sampai ke-8 menduduki peringkat pertama baik di Inggris maupun di Amerika Serikat—sebuah rekor yang tak tertandingi artis lain.

Sudah banyak yang berspekulasi tentang susunan lagu yang akan disajikan Zeppelin dalam konser yang diperkirakan akan berlangsung sekitar dua jam. Apakah Pagey akan memainkan gitar berleher dua EDS yang khas itu? Bagaimana Percy mengakali kualitas suaranya yang sudah menurun dan apakah Jason Bonham sedahsyat ayahnya? Banyak yang tak sabar menunggu datangnya tanggal 26 November.
